Hans Huyssen (PhD) is a composer (winner of the 2010 Helgaard Steyn Award) and Baroque cellist. He directs two early music ensembles – così facciamo (Munich) and the Cape Consort (Cape Town) and has founded the South African indie label mucavi records. He is affiliated to UCT’s College of Music as an NRF-rated associate researcher and is a STIAS fellow.
